If I Was The President of Nigeria (Poem)

If I was the president…

I would wash each flag’s piece,

And make that part of white glow with peace;

I would dye the green again with crops,

Til the land be seen as mother of jobs.

If I was the president…

The thread of our beautiful fabric

Will not be let even to sag a bit,

Cos in unity of threads

Are we to find our strength.

If I was the president…

We shall soar above all heights;

For even in turbulence of tides,

We may only wave side by side,

But never be torn miles apart.

If I was the president…

I will rule with a wand of unity,

Which even the creator once confessed of an inability,

By saying, “Nothing can stop these people”

Cos they are a one language people.

If I was the president,

All these will be evident!
