Six days of work led to a seventh day of rest.
A lengthy job of naming animals
Preceded a deep sleep…
A deep sleep that yielded a help meet.
A wife was yielded,
After a long duty that planted rest;
For duty sows rest,
Rest enough to harvest a wife.
Therefore, I must work;
Work enough to worth a rest,
For a help meet is only needful
When duty grows beyond single labour.
When grains fill the field,
And an extra hand becomes a need,
Then is she needful;
Then is she sought for.
Not in man’s desert of wishes;
But in the wheats of duty
Is a help meet needful.
